There Was An Earthquake In Northern California, is Southern California Next?
There are many buildings and structures in Los Angeles that are in serious need of retrofit upgrades. There are many homes in Los Angeles are considered soft story homes and are in need in foundation bolting. Soft story homes are labeled that way, because they are built before the 80’s and they have an outdated foundation support. These homes are much more vulnerable to earthquake damage that the city of Los Angeles has implemented a mandatory ordinance in all of those homes. Soft story has steel columns that can buckle in case of a huge earthquake. This will ultimately cause the home to collapse. The key here, is to add the foundation support that the home or building needs to withstand a big earthquake.
This can be very crucial to many homeowners and landlords, because their main concern is safety. The fact that there are so many natural disasters happening all over the world, it is impossible to avoid the obvious. We live in a state that is earthquake territory, and with the unpredictability of an earthquake its impossible not to act. As it is Northern California got recently hit by an earthquake of 4.1 magnitude. We cannot predict there will be an earthquake today, or tomorrow, but it is always best to have safety measures in your own home. Recent earthquakes that hit Mexico were at a 7.1 and above, and it left many homeless and dead. There were many that were frightened to even sleep in their own homes due to after shocks. The feeling of fear is one thing, but the feeling of permanent damage is another. Think about adding the proper foundation bolting to your home before it’s too late.
